Data Purl is a trading name of Cleveland Alternative Data Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16234509), registered office Basement, 52 Cleveland Square, London W2 6DB. We are the controller of the personal data described here.

• Details you give us: when you request a free account, a custom data scope, a founder conversation or our newsletter, we collect your name, work email, firm, role, the topics you select and any message you write, together with your marketing choice and when you made it.
• Client accounts: if you sign in, your name, email and the credentials needed to keep your account secure.
• Website usage: the page visited, the referring site and campaign tags, your browser type and approximate country. To count unique visits without cookies we store a one-way code made from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes daily. We do not store your IP address and cannot link visits across days.

Our datasets themselves contain no personal data: they are built from publicly available product listings. See compliance.

• Responding to your request and setting up access: to take steps you asked for before entering a contract, and in our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
• Providing client services: to perform our contract with you or your firm.
• Updates and newsletters: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.
• Understanding how the website is used, so we can improve it: in our legitimate interest, using records that do not identify you.

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. Signed-in clients receive a session cookie that is strictly necessary to keep them logged in.

We do not sell personal data. We use a service provider that processes data on our behalf: Amazon Web Services hosts the website and sends our email (Amazon SES). It may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States, and where it does we rely on the safeguards UK data protection law provides for such transfers. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

We keep enquiry and account records for as long as we have a relationship with you or your firm, and marketing records until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Website usage records do not identify you.

You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can withdraw consent to marketing at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
