Retailer tiers group each retailer by its price positioning (value, mid-market, premium, luxury), as classified in Data Purl's analytics portal. Figures are for the tier as a whole; no individual retailer is shown. Tiers with fewer than 2,000 products in a month are not shown. All tiers: discounting by retailer tier.

Definitions

Shelf price change
The change in the full (list) price of the same products compared with the same week a year earlier, in local currency. Only products listed in both weeks count, so new launches and discontinued lines do not move it. Price changes are combined with a geometric mean, the method statistical agencies use for matched prices, and the monthly figure is the average of the weekly readings.
