Apparel pricing, markdown and assortment data
Data Purl tracks apparel weekly at SKU level across brand websites, department stores, specialty chains, marketplaces and off-price retailers. Every product is placed in one category tree and every brand is resolved to its owner (and ticker, where the owner is listed), so markdowns, newness, availability and price architecture can be compared across retailers and seasons.
What is tracked
- Full price, selling price and markdown for every style, colour and size
- Availability by size, where the retailer exposes it
- Newness: first-seen dates for new styles and colourways
- Price architecture by tier within each apparel category
- Brand presence and assortment depth at each retailer, including DTC sites
Questions it answers
- Is a brand clearing inventory through deeper markdowns this season?
- Which retailers are expanding or cutting a brand's assortment?
- Is a brand's new-season range selling out at full price?
- How does a brand's discounting on its own site compare with its wholesale partners?
Key metrics
